Yokohama Tire Corporation will return on both the MOMO and Landshark Ferraris for the 1997 24 Hours of Daytona. Tire engineers have been doing further development on the Yokohama AVS tire sued during the 1996 IMSA Word SportsCar Championship season. Theses developments are expected to be tested during the November Daytona session. |
| Additionally, Team Manager Kevin Doran, who will return with Landshark Racing for the second season, and MOMO Corse for the fifth season, has designed some new aerodynamic bodywork for the Prancing Horse, which will also be tested under race-like conditions for the first time. | Landshark's Gerry Jackson and Didier Theys, along with MOMO's Gianpiero Moretti will all participate in the three-day test session. Also expected are a few additional test drivers, which MOMO and Landshark will be observing for possible inclusion in their 1997 racing effort. | A 1997 driver lineup has yet to be announced for either team, although Jackson, Theys, Moretti and Massimiliano "Mad Max" Papis are confirmed drivers in the two-car effort for the 24 Hours of Daytona, scheduled for February 1-2, 1997. Additional drivers will be announced following the test. | Lista International Corporation will return as a sponsor on the #66 Landshark / Lista entry. Lista's chairman and Ferrari 333 SP owner / driver, Fredy Lienhard, is expected to make four driving appearances during the 1997 season with the #66 Ferrari in the IMSA WSC series. |
